Balancing National Health Care with Caring for National Health

SCHIP.JPG

As we move beyond the various emotions that are inherent in the days and weeks surrounding a democratic election, we are left to sift through a variety of campaign promises and speculate upon which of these will become policy and which will be stored in the political lexicon for future campaigns. Though the economy took center stage as the most important issue of this election season, and stands to garner the most immediate attention of the new administration, health care reform continues to be a major point of concern that must be addressed by president-elect Obama and the democratic congress. Throughout his successful race to the White House, Barack Obama outlined a nationalized health care plan which relies largely on the expansion of our current Medicaid system. This is alarming considering we fund the current medical entitlement programs with money set aside for future social security liabilities. (emphasis added)

Parents jailed for not vaccinating kids

Vaccines are the most dangerous "accepted" practice in all of medicine. The latest vaccination outrage occurred in Prince George's County, Maryland where ‘believe it or not’ parents were actually told to appear in court and subject their children to on-the- spot, state-mandated vaccines of UP TO 17 DOSES - OR FACE IMPRISONMENT!! What's more, parents who ignored the court's demands were subject to a $50 fine for each day their child was "out of compliance" (i.e., not surrendering their Constitutional rights to the state), or up to 10 days in jail.

Which is more sickening? That this kind of outrage can occur without national outcry, or that it can happen about a 30-minute drive from the front steps of the rotunda of the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.? How is it possible that the schools allow this sort of thing to go on? Why is an education system party to such a gross violation of personal rights?

CA Governor’s Universal Healthcare Insurance

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has proposed a plan that would mandate healthcare insurance coverage for everyone in California, including a large number of citizens unwilling to pay the huge costs, and still millions more who are unable to afford it. One published estimate is that 6.5 million Californians are currently uninsured, not to mention many millions of illegal aliens, their famlies and children, all of whom would become taxpayer subsidized.

Analysis: (1) Socialized medicine advances the concept that the needs or desires of some people give them a claim on the lives and property of others. (2) The proposed "plan" turns the providers -- the doctors, hospitals, and businesses -- into the serfs of those arbitrarily deemed to be in need. (3) One of the proposed funding mechanisms is the reduction of welfare benefits to American citizens. (4) There is no universal right to health care coverage, any more than there is a universal right for anything else unearned. (5) The Schwarzenegger egalitarian healthcare scheme, like ALL other socialist schemes, requires wielding massive government force to violate the rights of an untold numbers of individuals and families.

Summary: The difference between labor and welfare is who actually works to provide the good life. In California it is apparent that Americans don't count for very much - not much more than a host organism for a parasite. Since there is no serious effort being made to defend the border, hopefully the last American out of California will have the courtesy to turn off the lights.
